Exploring All Possible Options is a Surefire Path to Creativity
Creative thinkers all have one defining attribute in common and that is they are willing to inquire about all possible options.
Imagine this, really take the time to picture what this would be like. Everyone in the world looks exactly the same.
They not only look the same, but they are exactly the same. We have the same features. The same eyes, the same nose, the same hairstyle. We all have the exact same characteristics. The same attitude, intellect, emotion, and world views. We look the same. We think the same. We act the same.
If everyone was the same, thought the same and acted the same way, then there no one would have any freedom. Choices would be pretty much made for you. To be honest, that would be a horrible world to live in.
With a world of people who all have the same ambition and drive, it would be impossible to get ahead. How could you be stimulated in an environment where everyone thinks the exact same?
Instead of everyone being the same, think about it if was only the people you dated. Every boyfriend or girlfriend looked the same. Every person you’ve ever went on a date with looks the same.
Try and think back about some of the differences between your past girlfriends or boyfriends. Those differences would be gone. Imagine how boring it now would be to choose your next date, or even your spouse.
The excitement that we get when we find that right person, it would not exist because there wouldn’t be any right or any wrong person. In short, we wouldn’t really have any options because every single potential spouse would be exactly the same as every other potential spouse.
Why would I be telling you all this?
The reason is, thankfully, we live in a world of complete differences. Therefore, there are tons of options, and every day we have the chance to make hundreds of real choices, and each one of them has a completely different outcome.
As creative thinkers we embrace the opportunities given to us in a free society. All of the choices before us are seen as having great potential because we have the ability to explore all of our options.
Having the ability to explore different options allows creative thinkers to generate many new things - a new ebook idea, a new service idea, a new joint venture idea, a new email series idea- the list of possible opportunities is endless because we have the option to explore them.
Creative thinkers, they do that all the time. They remove themselves from the mundane and they pursue new, different opportunities and possibilities because that’s what sparks and spawns new ideas.
